Read this month’s LEGION TIMES, the official newspaper of the American Legion Department of Texas.

January 21st 2017.  A special meeting called by Department of Texas, District 2 Commander McClelland provided training, lunch, and new leadership for Post 49 in Orange.  Shown on the right, clockwise from the top, meeting attendees, District 2 Commander McClelland addressing the group, incoming Post 49 Commander Bruce Korte being installed by Dept. of Texas Vice Commander Lloyd Buckmaster.  The entire slate of officers being sworn in and installed, and lunch provided by the Auxiliary.

The post was pleased to have representatives from every level of the American Legion at this event that the Division Commander had named New Beginnings.

Commanders from District and Division attended, along with Vice Commander from Department of Texas, and National Executive Committee Member representing Texas.

Since our charter in 1920, our American Legion Post has been welcoming veterans from all branches of our Armed Forces.

Today, Post 49 continues to welcome all military personnel serving our country. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country and Community.  Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace and blessings for our country, friends and families embodied in over 90 years of our great organization.

First Annual Adult Tricycle races were held on November 22nd 2014.  HUGE Success. For a quick video click here
Second Annual Adult Tricycle Races were held in June of 2015 to benefit CASA of the Savine Neches Region

For the third year in a row, Adult Tricycle Racing returned to American Legion Post 49!
The races were held November 12th 2016, registration at 4:00 pm, races began at 5:00 pm
